Edelstein at the Pine Street Inn https://www.edelsteincpa.com/edelstein-at-the-pine-street-inn/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=edelstein-at-the-pine-street-inn Tue, 09 Jan 2018 19:11:07 +0000 https://www.edelsteincpa.com/?p=2847 As we begin to celebrate our 50th anniversary here at Edelstein, we shared that we will be taking part in 5 larger scale community serving events to commemorate one per decade that we have been in business.  Today, we had our first of these five events and it took place at the Pine Street Inn. The Pine Street Inn’s mission is to partner with “homeless individuals to help them move from the streets and shelter to a home and assists formerly homeless individuals in retaining housing. We provide street outreach, emergency services, supportive housing, job training and connections to employment. We tirelessly advocate for collaborative solutions to end homelessness.”

We sponsored a Chop-A-Thon in which we peeled, chopped, diced and prepared 1,100 pounds of food to be used for dinners in the coming days. Our group of nearly 30 volunteers prepared 400 pounds of onions, 350 pounds of carrots, 300 pounds of celery and 50 pounds of peppers. Each day, the Pine Street Inn serves 2,500 meals to Boston’s homeless individuals.

We had a great morning working with the team at the Pine Street Inn, learning more about the services they provide to those in need, and, of course, chopping vegetables! Be sure to check out our Facebook page to see more pictures from today.

Thank you to all of our staff that participated today and to our partner co-chairs, Bill Mahoney and David McKay. Stay tuned as we share more about our other upcoming commemorative community service events.
